And, I'm Back.

Well, the jerks I was stealing wireless from forgot to pay their bill, so I was without wireless for awhile. But, the cable company finally showed up, so I'm legally surfin' the web.

Today was the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. I didn't watch it. It happened in San Fransisco this year, at Barry Bonds' home park. And with Barry about to break Hank Aaron's home run record, all eyes were on Mr. Bonds.
Barry's been the center of a steroid scandal for quite awhile, most everyone believes he's guilty, not everyone believes steroid use is a crime. The vast majority of people opposed to professional athletes using steroids point to the health risks associated with steroid use. Acne of the back (Backne), shrinkage of the genitalia, uncontrollable rage... The list goes on and on.
I believe I might have discovered another horrible side-effect of steroids, even worse than shrunken balls: Inability to discern quality in music.

I have shaped my hypothesis during my last few visits to the YMCA. A change in scheduling has caused me to begin my workouts later in the evening, around 7:30. This is, apparently, Meat-Head Time. My girlfriend and I are the only people lifting weights at this time who are a) exhibiting a skin color found in nature and b) not lifting all of the weights in the weight room simultaneously. (Also, we don't get into pose-offs.)
And the last few times I've been to the gym, what music is providing the soundtrack to my workout? Creed, Nickelback, Hinder. Linkin' Park. Apparently, as the steroids rapidly grow a bodybuilder's muscle mass, an inverse reaction occurs in their ability to realize that they are listening to the worst music ever made.
As I lay on the bench, getting ready to press an exceedingly moderate amount of weight away from my body and into the air twelve times in a row, I couldn't help but try to answer the question posed by Scott Stapp, King of the Douchebags: Can you take me higher? I wished, at that point, to go higher: to the roof, where I could leap to my death, and the end of my misery.

Were they jerks because they hadn't paid their bill and deprived you of internet or for some other, logical, reason?

no, because they didn't pay the bill. I'm sure they're lovely people, whoever they are.

Donald and I had free cable TV for a year from our downstairs neighbors. It was great! Then it went away. :(
